Function requirements
- The rear SAM control unit has detected the connected trailer.
- The vehicle is locked and the anti-theft alarm system is activated (for anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW]), code 551).
- The rear SAM control unit has detected the activated antitheft alarm system (for anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW]), code 551).
Function sequence
To monitor it, the rear SAM control unit cyclically energizes the trailer's right and left stop lamp via the trailer hitch socket (13-pin).
The electronic circuit of the rear SAM control unit detects a discontinuity in the stop lamp circuit.
The rear SAM control unit analyzes the signal and triggers the acoustic and optical alarm:
- The rear SAM control unit directly actuates the alarm signal horn with additional battery and lamps on the rear of the vehicle for an acoustic and optical alarm.
- Actuated via the CAN message from CAN-B, the front SAM control unit (N10) switches on the optical alarm of the lamps on the rear of the vehicle.
