Instrument Cluster Display Errors, Head Unit Not Retaining Power Status and Possible Positioning Errors In Vehicles Equipped with Navigation System 

SERVICE INFORMATION

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles having any of the conditions below, replace the iPod Interface Control Module with the new part number B6 782 4252 by removing the radio and the iPod Interface Module per WIS documents listed below.

  1. After starting the vehicle, the Instrument Cluster displays "dashes" (--) in Audio, Navigation or Telephone modes, for example "Audio -- "or "Navi --".
  2. During active route guidance, the vehicle's actual position does not match what is indicated in the navigation screen.
  3. After startup, the head unit does not power ON and requires pressing the Power hard key to restart the head unit.

To remove the COMAND MCSII Head Unit, refer to WIS document AR82.60-P-7502GZ

To remove the iPod Interface Module, refer to WIS document AZ82.60-P-0001-03GZ (*refer to Note on Page 2)

Model 251 instructions to remove the Head Unit and iPod Interface Module 

To remove the COMAND MCSII head unit, refer WIS document AR82.60-P-7502RT

To remove the iPod Interface Module, refer to WIS document AZ82.60-P-0001-03RT (*refer to Note on Page 2)
