Electrically adjustable steering column, general 

The electrically adjustable steering column makes possible the following partial function which are described in separate documents:

• Steering column adjustment, function 
• Easy entry/exit steering column adjustment, function 
• Storing/calling up steering column position, function 

Normalization of the steering column is important for the limitation of the adjustment range.

For normalization of the steering column the respective limit stops of the steering column adjustment are approached and the counter reading of the Hall sensor signals is stored as the normalizing position.
