The driver seat easy entry/exit position lies approx. 60 mm behind the drive position (last set position).

A longitudinal adjustment is only possible up to 190 mm behind the front stop. If the remaining range of adjustment is less than 30 mm, the driver seat is not adjusted.

Function in COMAND control unit (A40/3) activated
Seat adjustment normalized

Function

To ease entering/exiting, the driver seat is moved to the easy entry/exit position under one of the following conditions:

Removal of transmitter key (A8/1)
Opening of driver door with circuit 15R or circuit 15C
Driver door opened with transmitter key not in ignition

The seat fore/aft adjustment motor is actuated by way of the seat control unit.

Parallel to this, the steering column is also moved to the corresponding position.

The driving position is moved to again under the following conditions:

Switching of circuit 15C, circuit 15R or circuit 15 with the driver door closed
With active circuit 15, close driver door

Abort conditions

Manual seat adjustment
Manual steering column adjustment
Memory adjustment (with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors))

Repetition safeguard

Repeatedly inserting and removing the transmitter key may cause the equipment to move between the easy entry/exit position and the driving position every time.

To prevent this, the number of cycles is limited to 5. The counter is reset when the transmitter key is turned to circuit 15R On" or the status of the driver door is changed.
