Multifunction steering wheel, function Model 171.473 - GF82.90-P-0001SKA: Notes
Model 171.473
The multifunction steering wheel (MFL) serves to increase active driving safety in road traffic in combination with the instrument cluster (A1). The driver can concentrate on the traffic without distraction when controlling and operating various vehicle components. The MFL allows the driver to operate and call up the following systems and information:
- Radio (RD) and navigation (NAVI)
- Fault and warning messages
- Interior lights (IBL) (e.g. OFF delay times)
- Exterior lights (ABL) (e.g. OFF delay times, daytime running lamps)
- Trip computer (TRIP)
- Active service system (ASSYST)
- Distronic (autonomous intelligent cruise control) (ART) (only in active state, no operation)
- Roadside assistance and MB information call
- Telematic Alarm Identification on Demand (emergency call system) (TELE AID) (only
)
- Telephone (TEL) (e.g. read SMS messages)
- Tire pressure monitor (TPM)
Function requirements:
- Circuit 15R ON
- No undervoltage or overvoltage
Only systems and functions with which the vehicle is equipped are displayed. If a system is not installed, it is "skipped" when the system selection button (S110s3) on the left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) is pressed.
The system selected by the driver is displayed in the upper multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1). The left fanfare horn (H2) and the right fanfare horn (H2/1) can also be operated using the fanfare horn system button (S110s5) and the fanfare horn system button (S111s5) on the MFL, below the impact plate.
If the vehicle has a TRIP, there is also a "last mode" function.
When you switch to this system, the last selected submenu is displayed; in the other systems, the user is guided to a defined entry level.
Left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110)
In system selection button (S110s3) and Scroll forward and backward buttons (S110s1) are included in the left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110). Each of the systems can be called with the system selection button (S110s3). It is possible to "scroll" forward and backward in the systems. Other submenus can be called up in the NAVI system by scrolling forwards and backwards (S110s1).
Right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111)
The right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111) contains the accept/terminate phone call button (S111s3), and the + and button, setting of specific functions and volume control (S111s1).
A telephone call can be accepted or terminated with the accept/ terminate phone call button (S111s3).
The volume for the system currently active can be adjusted with the + and -button, setting of specific functions and volume control (S111s1). In the System settings menu, settings such as increasing or decreasing the OFF delay time for the external lights and setting the time can also be made using this button.
The steering wheel gear shifter MINUS (S110/1) and steering wheel gear shifter PLUS (S111/1) are read in via the local interconnect network (LIN) by the steering column module (N80). The steering column module (N80) places the signal "upshift" or "shift down" on the Controller Area Network-Bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C). The fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit (Y3/8n4) receives the signal and initiates the gear change.
