	Remove/install
	Risk of injury caused by moving parts that can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities.	Always remove ignition key when working on windshield wiper mechanism.	AS82.30-Z-0001-01A
1	Move windshield wipers to vertical position	Except model 171.473.
2	Detach electric cable for washer nozzle heater (6) and washer nozzle hose (7) from water guard (5) (arrow) and place to the side	Except model 171.473.
3	Take off cover (2)	Installation:  Check cover gasket, replace if damaged.
		To do this unlock cover (2).
4.1	Lift CDI control unit (N3/9) out of module box (1)	Engine 611, 612, 646
4.2	Lift ME control unit (N3/10) out of module box (1)	Engines 111, 112, 113, 156
5	Disconnect electrical connectors (4).	To do unlock electrical connectors (4).
6.1	Remove CDI control unit (N3/9) from module box (1)	Engine 611, 612, 646
6.2	Remove ME control unit (N3/10) from module box (1)	Engines 111, 112, 113, 156
7	Install in the reverse order
8	Read out fault memory	Stored faults which may be caused by assembly work, test work, removed lines or a simulation, must be processed and erased in the fault memories after completing the work.
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
