Rear end collision, function - GF91.60-P-2004Q
MODEL 209.3 /4 up to 31.5.04
Chronological behavior over time of emergency tensioning retractor during a rear end collision, shown on model 202.0
In the event of a rear end collision, the restraint systems control unit (N2/7) records a high level of acceleration in the direction of motion. When the first triggering threshold is exceeded the restraint systems control unit (N2/7) issues a triggering pulse to the following system components:
- Driver ETR [GUS] squib (R12/1)
- Front passenger ETR [GUS] squib (R12/2)
However, this is only the case when the respective seat belt buckle is plugged in.
When the second triggering threshold is exceeded, the restraint systems control unit (N2/7) also issues a triggering pulse to the following system components:
- left rear ETR squib (R12/6)
- right rear ETR squib (R12/7)
The emergency tensioning retractors in the rear are also triggered when the respective seat belt buckles are not plugged in.
