Tire Pressure Monitor System Reactivation

CAUTION: The warning system can only operate in a reliable manner if correct tire pressures are set. If an incorrect tire inflation pressure is set, the system will monitor the pressure according to the incorrect value.
NOTE: In the event of air pressure changes by the driver, in the event of a wheel replacement or a tire change, new air pressure values in the TPM [RDK] control unit are detected automatically by filling detection. Manual reactivation is merely planned as a stopgap solution if automatic filling detection fails.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
  2. Ensure inflation pressure of all 4 tires is set to specification.
  3. Turn ignition switch to ON position (or SmartKey position 2). The standard display menu will appear in multifunction display on instrument cluster (temperature and trip odometer).
  4. Press menu scroll forward or back button (up/down arrows, located on left side of multifunction steering wheel) until TPM system menu is displayed.
  5. Press TPMS reset button on instrument cluster. See Fig 1. The display will change to the selection screen with "No" preselected.
  6. Press the "+" button to select "Yes" (on right side of steering wheel). The selection screen with selection "Yes" appears for approximately 2 seconds. Then a confirmation message will be displayed.
NOTE: Pressing any other button here will cause the activation sequence to be aborted.
  7. After about 10 minutes driving time the current tire pressures are displayed. The activation process is complete.
