Function requirements 

Function 

Opening one of the doors is recognized by the rear SAM control unit by way of the corresponding central locking motor (ZV) and notified to the overhead control panel control unit via CAN-B.

Footwell lighting 

After the overhead control panel control unit has received a signal about an open door from the rear SAM control unit, the overhead control panel control unit sends the switch-on signal for the footwell illumination to the front SAM control unit.

The footwell illumination on-period is as follows:

IMPORTANT All four footwell lamps are switched each time.

Entrance/exit lamp 

After the overhead control panel control unit has received a signal about an open door from the rear SAM control unit, the overhead control panel control unit sends the switch-on signal for the entrance/exit lamps.

The switch-on signal for the entrance/exit lamps is transmitted by the overhead control panel control unit via CAN-B to the:

The on-period is terminated when the corresponding door is closed or after 5 min by the overhead control panel control unit.

The on-period is extended or restarted as long as at least one door is open and circuit 15R is switched on or the vehicle has been locked or unlocked.

Dome lamp 

When one of the front or rear doors is opened, the front interior lamps as well as the dome lamps in the 2nd seat row and the dome lamp in the 3rd seat row are switched on dimmed.

The lights are switched off under the following conditions:

IMPORTANT The OFF delay time for the dome lamps, when all doors are closed and circuit 15 OFF, can be set in the instrument cluster (A1) to 0, 5, 15 or 20 s.
