Remove/install injection system control unit - AR07.08-P-7008MR

NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Read out variant coding of the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) with diagnostic system When replacing ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04A
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Transfer stored data to new ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).
IMPORTANT Connect up diagnostic system and read data from ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) in diagnostic system.
 
2 Disconnect vehicle wiring harness (1) on ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)    
3 Disconnect engine wiring harness (2) on ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)    
4 Open retaining clamps (3) and remove ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) from air filter housing (4) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Check seal between air filter housing (4) and ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) for damage and replace if necessary.  
5 Install in the reverse order    
6 Perform sensor rotor adaptation with diagnostic system When replacing ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04A
7 Release transport protection on ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) When replacing ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)  
8 Personalize and activate ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) When replacing ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)  
DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
9 Carry out an engine test run
