Overhead Control Panel (OCP [DBE]) Control Unit Component Description - GF54.21-D-6080H

Location 

The DBE control unit is located in the center of the driver compartment roof area.

Task 

The DBE control unit reads in the integrated buttons, is a master control unit for the anti-theft alarm system [EDW] and it is connected to the Controller Area Network bus Class B (interior) (CAN-B).

Generally the DBE control unit regulates the following systems or supports the master control units:

IBL 

The following functions are controlled for the IBL:

Tilting/sliding roof, with code (D27) Electr. glass tilting/sliding roof 

The front tilting/sliding roof motor (M12m1) is controlled for the tilting/sliding roof.

Rear sliding roof unit, for model 906 with code (D24) Power tilting/sliding roof in passenger compartment 

The rear tilting/sliding roof motor (M12/1m1) is controlled for the rear sliding roof unit.

Rain/light sensor, with code (JA5) Light/rain sensor 

In the rain/light sensor the signals are read in and converted to CAN-B messages or vice versa.

Telephone, with code (EH3) Universal preinstallation for networked mobile phone 

The signals of the hands-free system microphone with overhead control panel for LHD vehicles (B25/13) are read in for the telephone and converted to CAN-B messages and vice versa.

Anti-theft alarm system, with code (FZ5) Anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW]) 

The following functions are controlled for the anti-theft alarm system:

Anti-theft alarm system, with code (FZ4) Breaking and entering/vehicle theft alarm with interior protection and tow-away protection 

The following functions are controlled for the anti-theft alarm system:

Anti-theft alarm system, with code (FY1) Anti-theft alarm system 2 with interior protection, tow-away protection and rechargeable-battery horn 

The following functions are controlled for the anti-theft alarm system:

The DBE control unit reads in the following integrated keys and buttons:

IMPORTANT If the DBE control unit detects actuation of the integrated keys and buttons for t ≥ 20 s, so the signal is ignored and a fault saved. An actuation signal is not issued directly nor sent to CAN-B.

If the integrated keys or buttons are actuated again then the DBE control unit must detect beforehand the park position of each respective key or button for t > 1 s.
