Remove/Install Additional Battery For ECO Start/Stop Function - Ar54.10-D-0111M

MODEL 906 with CODE MJ7 (ECO start/stop function) with CODE XM0 (Facelift)

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Switch off all electrical consumers NOTES All electrical consumers must be switched off.
They may otherwise be damaged when the ground line (7) is disconnected/connected.
 
2 Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key from electronic ignition lock control unit    
3 Remove driver seat   AR91.10-D-1010H
NOTES Do not remove seat belt from driver seat.  
4 Detach cover (1) from seat base (2) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Position electrical lines for driver seat on the cover (1).  
5 Detach relay holder (3) at seat base (2) and swing forwards    
6 Unscrew nut (4) from bracket (5)    
7 Swing bracket (5) upwards and detach from battery holder    
  Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A 
8 Disconnect ground line (7) from on-board electrical system backup battery (G1/12)

  Notes on AGM battery   AH54.10-P-0002-01A
INSPECT Check     
9 Check power for on-board electrical system has been disabled IMPORTANT Using a diode test lamp, check the on-board electrical system for voltage between the positive terminal of the on-board electrical system backup battery (G1/12) and the disconnected ground line (7).
If the diode test lamp lights up, the on-board electrical system is still active because of a defect in the electrical system.
If diode test lamp lights up: ↓
 
Detach ground line of on-board electrical system battery.  
IMPORTANT The electrical system is to be repaired once the work to be carried out has been completed. AR54.10-D-0003SD 
10 Disconnect positive lines (6) from on-board electrical system backup battery (G1/12)    
11 Remove on-board electrical system backup battery (G1/12) from battery holder    
12 Install in the reverse order
