Remove/Install Fuel Pump And Fill Level Sensor - Ar47.20-D-7000SD

ENGINE 642, 651 in MODEL 906

  Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel. No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove fuel tank (1)   AR47.10-D-4100SD 
2 Disconnect electrical connection (2) on fuel pump with fill level sensor (M3/5)    
3 Unlock fuel feed line (4) and fuel return line (3) on fuel pump with fill level sensor (M3/5) and detach    
4 Unlock auxiliary heater (5) fuel line on fuel pump with fill level sensor (M3/5) and detach ENGINE 642, 651 in MODEL 906
with CODE H12 (Auxiliary hot-water heater)
 
5 Unscrew union nut (6) on fuel tank (1) SPECIAL TOOL Hook wrench *639589000700
6 Remove fuel pump with fill level sensor (M3/5) from the fuel tank (1) IMPORTANT Catch fuel with rag.  
INSTALLING Install     
7 Insert fuel pump with fill level sensor (M3/5) into fuel tank (1) IMPORTANT Replace sealing ring.
Make sure that the sealing ring is seated correctly.
 
8 Place union nut (6) on fuel tank (1) in such a way that the marking (10) stands opposite marking (9) IMPORTANT Replace union nut (6).  
9 Continue to turn union nut (6) using torque wrench from this position by about 1.5 revolutions until marking (10) stands between markings (7, 8) IMPORTANT The checking torque must reach between markings (7, 8).  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Union nut, fuel level sensor to fuel tank *BA47.10-N-1001-01E 
SPECIAL TOOL Hook wrench *639589000700
10 Place auxiliary heater (5) fuel line on fuel pump with fill level sensor (M3/5) and lock ENGINE 642, 651 in MODEL 906
with CODE H12 (Auxiliary hot-water heater)
 
11 Place fuel feed line (4) and fuel return line (3) on fuel pump with fill level sensor (M3/5) and lock in position    
12 Contact electrical connection (2) on fuel pump with fill level sensor (M3/5)    
13 Install fuel tank (1)   AR47.10-D-4100SD 
14 Connect diagnostic system, clear fault memory and perform initialization of the fuel pump with fill level sensor (M3/5) with diagnostic system For renewal of the fuel pump with fill level sensor (M3/5)  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-D-2000-04SD
