Perform Run-In Program After Engine Replacement - Ar01.10-D-2406-01WE

Engine 651 in model 906 

NOTES Perform following operation steps prior to first journey.

Damage can occur to the engine otherwise.

  1. Start engine and allow to idle for 35 s.
  2. Increase engine speed to 1, 500 RPM, and maintain for 180 s.
  3. Increase engine speed to 2, 500 RPM, and maintain for 180 s.
  4. Increase engine speed to 3, 500 RPM, and maintain for 120 s.
  5. Allow engine to idle for 120 s.
  6. Through several abrupt accelerations, increase engine speed to max. 3, 500 RPM for 30 s.
  7. Perform workshop test drive over a driving distance of approx. 30 km (18 miles).

    NOTES Wide open throttle operation is not permissible during first 10 km (7 miles). A maximum engine speed of 3, 500 RPM must not be exceeded.

    Engine damage can occur otherwise.

    IMPORTANT Driving profile should be approx. 50% urban and 50% interurban travel.
