Remove/install sidebag sensor - AR91.60-P-0710CW

MODEL 204.0/2/9

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Adjust front seat to foremost position    
2 Disconnect ground cable   AR54.10-P-0003CW
3 Remove lower trim (1) on B-pillar    
4 Release floor covering beneath the B-pillar until the cover (2) is accessible    
5 Remove adhesive tape (5) Only on model 204.9
IMPORTANT The adhesive tape (5) must be removed, otherwise the cable duct cover (2) cannot be opened far enough.
 
6 Lift lugs (arrows A) and open cable duct cover (2)    
7 Remove bolt (3) from left sidebag sensor (A53) or right sidebag sensor (A54) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.60-P-1010-01M 
8 Remove left sidebag sensor (A53) or right sidebag sensor (A54) and disconnect electrical connector (4) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that journal of left sidebag sensor (A53) or right sidebag sensor (A54) is correctly seated in longitudinal member.  
9 Install in the reverse order    
10 Read out fault memory, erase if necessary After replacing the left sidebag sensor (A53) or the right sidebag sensor (A54).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
