Remove/install sidebag sensor - AR91.60-P-0710EC

MODEL 204.3, 207.3/4

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Adjust front seat to foremost position    
2 Disconnect ground cable Model 204.3 AR54.10-P-0003CW
Model 207.3/4 AR54.10-P-0003EW
3 Unclip door sill (1) SPECIAL TOOL Fig 2
4 Remove screws/bolts (2) at belt end fitting (5) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that seat belt (4) is not twisted during installation as otherwise correct function of the seat belt (4) is not guaranteed.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1003-01P 
5 Remove belt end fitting (5) with seat belt (4) and place to one side    
6 Remove edge stripping (6) in area of paneling (3)    
7 Unclip catch hook (arrow A) of panel (3) from clamp (7)    
8 Swivel paneling (3) to one side until flap (8) of cable duct is accessible NOTES Risk of kinking paneling (3).  
9 Release catch hooks (arrows B) at flap (8) and swivel flap (8) to one side until screw/bolt (9) is accessible    
10 Remove screw/bolt (9) at left sidebag sensor (A53) or at right sidebag sensor (A54) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.60-P-1010-01M 
11 Remove left sidebag sensor (A53) or right sidebag sensor (A54) and disconnect electrical connector INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that journal of left sidebag sensor (A53) or right sidebag sensor (A54) is correctly seated in longitudinal member.  
12 Install in the reverse order    
13 Read out fault memory, erase if necessary After replacing the left sidebag sensor (A53) or the right sidebag sensor (A54).  
Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory AD00.00-P-2000-04A
