Remove/install injection system control unit - AR07.08-P-7008CW

1 Read out transfer variant coding of ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) using STAR DIAGNOSIS IMPORTANT When replacing the ME control unit (N3/10)
IMPORTANT Connect up STAR DIAGNOSIS and read data from the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) into STAR DIAGNOSIS.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Transfer stored data to the new ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).
 
2 Switch off ignition    
3 Remove air filter housing   AR09.10-P-1150CW
4 Loosen bolts (1) and remove ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)    
5 Install in the reverse order    
6 Perform sensor rotor adaptation using STAR DIAGNOSIS IMPORTANT When replacing the ME control unit (N3/10)
IMPORTANT Menu guidance:
  • Engine control module
  • Adaptations
  • Learning processes
 
7 Release transport protection on ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) IMPORTANT When replacing the ME control unit (N3/10)  
8 Personalize and activate ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) IMPORTANT When replacing the ME control unit (N3/10)  
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

9 Carry out engine test run IMPORTANT When replacing the ME control unit (N3/10)
