Remove/install power steering pump - AR46.30-P-0500MMI

MODEL 172 with ENGINE 152

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under high pressure. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid Depressurize hydraulic system completely before starting any work on system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. AS00.00-Z-0013-01A
1 Remove poly-V belt   AR13.20-P-0001MMI
2 Suction off oil from expansion reservoir (1) of power steering NOTES The area surrounding the separation point should be cleaned thoroughly before opening the hydraulic system. Even the smallest dirt particles, introduced into the hydraulic components, can lead to malfunctions and a total failure of the hydraulic system.

3 Detach return line (2) at power steering expansion reservoir (1) IMPORTANT Collect escaping oil with a rag and plug line connections.

4 Unscrew bolt (3) and pull pressure line (4) out of power steering pump (5) IMPORTANT Collect escaping oil with a rag and plug line connections.  
SPECIAL TOOL
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace sealing ring.

5 Disconnect electrical connector (6) from power steering pump quantity control valve    
6 Detach vacuum line (7) at intake manifold    
7 Remove bolt (8) securing coolant line to power steering pump (5)    
8 Remove bolts (9) from power steering expansion reservoir (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1003-01R 
9 Remove bolts (10) of power steering pump (5) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1020-01R 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1021-01R 
10 Remove power steering pump (5) with power steering expansion reservoir (1) from timing case cover and take out of engine compartment    
11 Undo hose clamp and remove power steering expansion reservoir (1) from power steering pump (5) If necessary  
12 Install in the reverse order    
13 Fill and bleed power steering pump (5).   AR46.30-P-0010V 
14 Power steering - checking and correcting oil level   AP46.00-P-4611V
