Remove/install injection system control unit - AR07.08-P-7008EVO

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Read out transfer variant coding of ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) using STAR DIAGNOSIS When replacing ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).
IMPORTANT Connect up STAR DIAGNOSIS and read data from the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) into STAR DIAGNOSIS.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Transfer stored data to the new ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).
 
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2 Switch off ignition    
3 Disconnect electrical connectors (3) at ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).    
4 Unclip electrical line (6) from firewall    
5 Loosen clips (5) from ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)    
6 Detach ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) upwards out of the air filter housing (1) support INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure correct seating of the seal (4) in the air filter housing (1).  
7 Install in the reverse order    
8 Perform sensor rotor adaptation using STAR DIAGNOSIS When replacing ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).

  • Learning processes
 
9 Release transport protection on ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) When replacing ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).  
10 Personalize and activate ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) When replacing ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).  
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

11 Carry out engine test run When replacing ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).
