REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
NOTES Notes on bolted connections with self tapping screws   AH00.00-P-0007-01SF
    IMPORTANT General note:
Always  replace engine mount in pairs.
 
1 Remove engine with the front axle carrier (3) IMPORTANT When removing the engine support (8) on the right and left. AR01.10-P-2500MLJ
2 Remove engine trim panel    
3 Remove engine air intake duct upstream of air filter housing    
4 SPECIAL TOOL Mount engine hoist and raise engine slightly IMPORTANT Only raise engine sufficiently that the engine mount (5) is not under tension. AR33.10-P-0105EW
5 Raise vehicle    
6 Remove bottom engine compartment paneling MODEL 166.0 AR61.30-P-1001GQ
7 Remove catalytic converter on the right and left IMPORTANT The oxygen sensors remain in the catalytic converter. AR49.10-P-5500MLJ
8 Remove integral carrier heat shield    
9 Unfasten heat shield over the exhaust manifold    
10 Remove exhaust pipe   AR09.40-P-6025MLJ
11 Remove engine mount heat shield    
12 Remove screw/bolts (2) for engine mount (5) on engine support (8) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA22.10-P-1002-03G 
13 Remove screw/bolts (4) for engine mount (5) on front axle carrier (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA22.10-P-1001-03G 
14 Remove heat shield (6) on engine support (8) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA22.10-P-1003-02A 
15 Raise engine NOTES Ensure that engine does not touch the partition wall. Cable and lines may be damaged otherwise.  
16 Remove engine mount (5) to the rear INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The engine mount (5) must sit in the cutouts on the engine support (8).
IMPORTANT Pay attention to environmental protection regulations for disposal of engine mounts (5). Dispose of engine mounts (5) into mixed scrap.

17 Remove screw/bolts for engine support (8) on cylinder crankcase TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA22.10-P-1001-02A

18 Remove engine crossmember (8) to the rear    
  Right engine support (8)     
19 Remove alternator   AR15.40-P-5032MLJ
20 Remove starter screen screw/bolt on engine support (8) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA22.10-P-1003-02A 
21 Remove screw/bolts for engine support (8) on cylinder crankcase TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA22.10-P-1001-02A 
SPECIAL TOOL Figure
22 Remove engine crossmember (8) to the rear    
23 Install in the reverse order
