DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-N-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key    
2 Remove heat shield above transmission connector (4) TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 166, 172, 205, 207, 212, 217, 218, 222  
TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 212 AR27.40-P-0700-01EW
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, heat shield to oil pan *BA27.10-P-1009-04H 
3 Detach electrical connections from transmission connection (4) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Clean transmission connection (4) and electrical connection on fully integrated transmission control controller unit (Y3/8).  
4 Remove automatic transmission oil pan   AR27.10-P-7030EWM 
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace automatic transmission oil pan.
5 Unscrew screws/bolts (2, 3) and remove fully integrated transmission control controller unit (Y3/8) INSTALLATION NOTES Make sure that the contact pins (6) of the selector lever lock are not damaged. Otherwise, the selector lever lock may malfunction.
NOTES If fully integrated transmission control controller unit (Y3/8) is jammed, pry it off transmission housing (1) carefully using a suitable tool with sealing surfaces covered up. Otherwise the fully integrated transmission control controller unit (Y3/8) or the sealing surfaces on transmission housing (1) may get damaged.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace screw/bolts (2, 3). Check oil guide pipes (7a, 7b) and sealing rings (4a, 5) for damage, replace, if necessary. Insert oil guide pipes (7a, 7b) into fully integrated transmission control controller unit (Y3/8).
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, auxiliary oil pump to transmission housing *BA27.19-P-1003-01D 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, electrohydraulic controller unit to transmission housing *BA27.19-P-1001-01D 
6 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check     
7 Check oil level in automatic transmission, adjust to correct level if necessary TRANSMISSION 725.0
with CODE 805 (Model year 2015)

8 Connect diagnostic unit and read out and clear fault memory    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 166, 172, 207, 212, 218 AD00.00-P-2000-04A
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS TRANSMISSION 725.0 in MODEL 205, 217, 222 AD00.00-P-2000-04B
9 Perform transmission adaptation    
DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
10 Test run engine and check transmission for leaktightness and proper operation INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Shift through the gears of the transmission a few times before putting into service in order to flush any air pockets out of the fully integrated transmission control controller unit (Y3/8).
