Remove/install injection system control unit - AR07.08-P-7008EMG

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Read out variant coding using STAR DIAGNOSIS Only when replacing ME-SFI control unit (N3/10)  
2 Raise vehicle with vehicle lift    
3 Detach right front wheel    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Remove/install wheels   AP40.10-P-4050EW
4 Remove inner fender in right front fender    
5 Disconnect electrical connectors (1) from ME-SFI control unit (N3/10)    
6 Loosen nuts (2) and remove bracket (4) together with ME-SFI control unit (N3/10) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The rubber centering piece () on bracket (4) must be placed in hole on the inner part of the A-pillar.  
7 Unscrew bolts (3) and pull ME-SFI control unit (N3/10) out of bracket (4)    
8 Install in the reverse order    
9 Read in variant coding using STAR DIAGNOSIS Only when replacing ME-SFI control unit (N3/10)
IMPORTANT Transfer stored version coding of previously installed ME-SFI control unit (N3/10) to new ME-SFI control unit (N3/10).
 
10 Start up CDI control unit (N3/9) using STAR DIAGNOSIS Only when replacing ME-SFI control unit (N3/10)
IMPORTANT The ME-SFI control unit (N3/10) must be adapted to the vehicle with Star Diagnosis in menu item "Commissioning"
 
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

11 Carry out engine test run
