DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Read out variant coding of the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (4) with the diagnostic system When replacing the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (4) 1
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Transfer stored data to new ME-SFI [ME] control unit (4).   AD00.00-P-2000-04B
2 Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key    
3 Remove cover (1)    
4 Disconnect electrical connections (2, 3) on ME-SFI [ME] control unit (4)    
5 Remove ME-SFI [ME] control unit(4) upwards    
6 Install in the reverse order    
7 Perform sensor rotor adaptation with diagnostic system When replacing the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (4)  
8 Release transport protection on ME-SFI [ME] control unit (4) When replacing the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (4)  
9 Personalize and activate ME-SFI [ME] control unit (4) When replacing the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (4)  
DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
