Location 

The KEYLESS-GO control unit is located at left in the trunk behind the side paneling. In model 205.4, the KEYLESS-GO control unit is located in the spare wheel well.

Tasks 

The KEYLESS-GO control unit has the following purposes:

• Reading in of sensors 
• Evaluation of input factors 
• Actuation of components 

Reading in of sensors 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

• Direct line 
• KEYLESS-GO LIN (LIN B27) (with CODE 871 (HANDS-FREE ACCESS)) 
• Interior CAN (CAN B) 

Direct line 

The signals from the following components are read via a direct line:

• Left front KEYLESS-GO door handle (A17/1) (with CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO))
• Right front KEYLESS-GO door handle (A17/2) (with CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO))
• Left rear KEYLESS-GO door handle (A17/3) (model 205.0/1/2, Model 253 with CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO))
• Right rear KEYLESS-GO door handle (A17/4) (model 205.0/1/2, Model 253 with CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO))
• FM 1, AM, CL [ZV] and KEYLESS-GO antenna amplifier (A2/18)

KEYLESS-GO LIN (with CODE 871 (HANDS-FREE ACCESS)) 

The signals from the rear switching module (N38) are read in by the KEYLESS-GO LIN.

Interior CAN 

The signals are read in by the KEYLESS-GO control unit via the interior CAN. The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see appropriate block diagram or function schematic).

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.

Actuation of components 

The following components are actuated via a direct line:

• FM 1, AM, CL [ZV] and KEYLESS GO antenna amplifier
• Trunk KEYLESS-GO antenna (A2/35)
• Left front door KEYLESS-GO antenna (A2/38) (model 205.3/4 with CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO))
• Left rear door KEYLESS-GO antenna (A2/39) (model 205.0/1/2, Model 253 with CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO))
• Right front door KEYLESS-GO antenna (A2/40) (model 205.3/4 with CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO))
• Right rear door KEYLESS-GO antenna (A2/41) (model 205.0/1/2, Model 253 with CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO))
• Center console KEYLESS-GO antenna (A2/60)
