Overview
This document contains information on:
- General
- Function requirements
- Saving and retrieving settings
General
The memory function is available for seats in the first and second seat rows. It can be used to save and retrieve settings for the following systems (equipment specific):
- Seat adjustment
- Multicontour seat adjustment
- Steering column adjustment (adjustment via driver's side memory function)
- Outside mirror adjustment (adjustment via driver's side memory function)
- Head-up display adjustment (adjustment via driver's side memory function)
3 memory slots are available here for storing the adjustment settings.
Function requirements
- No overvoltage or undervoltage
- Circuit 15R ON (mirror adjustment)
- Circuit 15R or circuit 15 ON (multicontour seat adjustment)
- Circuit 15 ON (Head-up display)
- Seat adjustment normalized (seat adjustment)
- Steering column normalized (steering column adjustment)
Saving and retrieving settings
The "Save memory position" request takes place via the switch in the switch group, seat adjustment.
Storage procedure:
- The position of the seats is saved by the seat control unit based on the Hall sensors on the seats.
- The position of the steering wheel is saved by the seat control unit based on Hall sensors on the steering column.
- The position of the outside mirrors is saved by the front door control unit based on data from potentiometers in the outside mirrors.
- The settings of the multicontour seats are saved the multicontour seat control unit using the set air pressures.
- The settings for the head-up display control unit are saved by the instrument cluster display control unit.
Once the settings have been saved, an acknowledge tone is emitted through the instrument cluster speaker.
Adjustment of the memory position is interrupted under the following conditions:
- Manual seat adjustment
- Manual mirror adjustment (driver side memory function only)
- Manual steering column adjustment (driver side memory function only)
- Further storage request
The "Retrieve memory position" request can be generated in the following way:
- Via the switch in the switch group, seat adjustment
- Via the multimedia system control (e.g. activation of user profiles)
The corresponding control units then restore the previously stored settings.
