The overhead control panel control unit is located in the front section of the headliner.

Tasks 

The overhead control panel control unit has the following tasks:

Reading in of signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

Roof LIN 

The overhead control panel control unit reads in the requests from the SAM control unit (N10) to switch on the interior lights via the roof LIN.

Direct line 

The overhead control panel control unit reads in the signals of the following components over a direct line:

With code 348 (Emergency call/assist system), code 350 (eCall Europe emergency call system), code 351 (Emergency call system (HERMES) or code 882 (Interior monitoring), the overhead control panel control unit reads in the signals of the anti-theft alarm system/emergency call system button group via direct lines.

The anti-theft alarm system/emergency call system button group can contain the following buttons:

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors are evaluated by the microprocessor and the relevant components are actuated.

Actuation of components 

The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:

Roof LIN 

The overhead control panel control unit sends status information of the switches mounted to the housing over the roof LIN to the SAM control unit, which - where applicable - forwards it to the evaluating control units.

Direct line 

The following components are actuated via a direct line:
