Location 

The SAM control unit is located at the front right on the A-pillar.

Tasks 

The SAM control unit has the following tasks:

Reading in of signals 

The input factors are read in over the following connections:

Direct line 

The signals from the following components are read via direct lines:

Center console switch LIN 

The signals of the following components are read-in over the center console switch LIN:

Roof LIN 

The signals of the following components are read-in over the roof LIN:

Battery sensor LIN 

The signals from the following components are read in via the battery sensor LIN:

Interior CAN 

The signals are read in by the SAM control unit via the interior CAN. The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see appropriate block diagram or function schematic).

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.

The SAM control unit controls the following functions:

Actuation of components 

Components are actuated with the following connection:

Direct line 

The following components are actuated via direct lines:

Center console switch LIN 

The following components are actuated over the center console switch LIN:

Roof LIN 

The following components are actuated over the roof LIN:

Battery sensor LIN 

The following component is actuated over the battery sensor LIN:

Interior CAN 

The signals are transmitted by the SAM control unit via the interior CAN. The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see appropriate block diagram or function schematic).

Actuation of relay 

The following relays are switched by the SAM control unit:
