Location
The RCP [HBF] control unit is located in the center console between the front seats.
Task
The rear climate control and seat heater functions can be set via the RCP [HBF] control unit. This in turn means that the RCP [HBF] control unit is responsible for the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Output of signals
Reading in of signals
The following input factors are read in via the interior CAN (CAN B):
- Circuit status
- Function feedback from the automatic air conditioning control and operating unit (N22/7)
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.
Output of signals
The following signals are issued over the interior CAN:
- Request for higher or lower air volume
- Request for higher or lower specified temperature in rear area
- Temperature control switch-on/off in rear area
- Automatic regulation of air volume and distribution
- Request for seat heater via left rear seat heater button, 2nd seat row and right rear seat heater button, 2nd seat row (with CODE 872 (Seat heater in rear))
This data is used to control or regulate the air volume of the rear vents through the rear blower motor (M2/1) and the rear temperature control by the rear air distribution flap actuator motor (M2/35).
