Location
The RCP [HBF] control unit is located in the center console between the front seats.
Task
The rear compartment climate control and seat heater functions can be set by the rear passengers via the RCP [HBF] control unit.
The RCP [HBF] control unit has the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Output of signals
Reading in of signals
The RCP [HBF] control unit also reads in the following input factors over the interior CAN (CAN B):
- Terminal status of terminal 15
- Circuit 58d (Switch illumination)
- Instrument illumination brightness
- Energy management status
- Seat heater status (with CODE 872 (Electrically heated left and right rear seats))
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.
Output of signals
The following signals are issued over the interior CAN:
- To the AAC control and operating unit (N22/7):
- Request for higher or lower air volume
- Request for higher or lower temperature in rear area
- Temperature control switch-off in rear area
- Automatic regulation of air volume and distribution
- To rear control unit (N10/8):
- Seat heater request through left rear seat heater button, 2nd seat row (N72/2s10) or the right rear seat heater button, 2nd seat row (N72/2s11) (with CODE 872 (Electrically heated left and right rear seats))
