- Insert connector of the trailer socket tester (1) into the trailer socket.
- Switch on ignition.
- Switch on left turn signal and check for proper operation.
- Switch on right turn signal, check for proper operation and switch off.
- Switch on hazard warning system, check for proper operation and switch off.
- Simulate failure of left or right turn signal and check doubling of flasher frequency for indicator lamps in instrument cluster.
- Switch on standing light, check for proper operation and switch off.
- Engage "R" gear range, check backup lamps for proper operation and engage "P" gear range.
- Press brake pedal and check brake lamps for proper operation.
- Switch on rear fog lamps and check for proper operation.
The rear fog lamps on the vehicle must not light up.
- Simulate failure of rear fog lamp on trailer.
The rear fog lamps must light up.
- Check constant voltage connection "Circuit 30" on trailer socket for proper operation.
- Switch off ignition.
- Disconnect connector of the trailer socket tester (1) from the trailer socket.
