Performing Function Test Of Light Signals At Trailer Coupling Socket - AN31.19-P-8100-06GQY

MODEL 166.0/8 without CODE 460 (Canada version) without CODE 494 (US version) without CODE 496 (Mexico version) 

  1. Insert connector of the trailer socket tester (1) into the trailer socket.
  2. Switch on ignition.
  3. Switch on left turn signal and check for proper operation.
  4. Switch on right turn signal, check for proper operation and switch off.
  5. Switch on hazard warning system, check for proper operation and switch off.
  6. Simulate failure of left or right turn signal and check doubling of flasher frequency for indicator lamps in instrument cluster.
  7. Switch on standing light, check for proper operation and switch off.
  8. Engage "R" gear range, check backup lamps for proper operation and engage "P" gear range.
  9. Press brake pedal and check brake lamps for proper operation.
  10. Switch on rear fog lamps and check for proper operation.

    IMPORTANT The rear fog lamps on the vehicle must not light up.

  11. Simulate failure of rear fog lamp on trailer.

    IMPORTANT The rear fog lamps must light up.

  12. Check constant voltage connection "Circuit 30" on trailer socket for proper operation.
  13. Switch off ignition.
  14. Disconnect connector of the trailer socket tester (1) from the trailer socket.
