Location 

The WSS control unit is located beneath the seat cushion at the front passenger seat cushion frame.

Task 

The WSS control unit determines the weight applied to the front passenger seat by means of a pressure measurement in a seat mat filled with silicone. The WSS control unit sends information on the occupancy status of the front passenger seat over the seat occupancy LIN (LIN E2) to the supplemental restraint system control unit (N2/10).
