Location

The multicontour seat control units are located at the bottom on the backrest frame of the respective seat.

Tasks

The multicontour seat control unit does the following:

The tasks are subdivided as follows:

Reading in of signals

The signals are read in by the multicontour seat control unit via the interior CAN (CAN B). The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see appropriate block diagram or function schematic).

Evaluation of input factors

The input factors read in are evaluated by the multicontour seat control unit. The air cushions of the contour inserts in the seat are actuated by the piezo valves integrated in the multicontour seat control unit.

Actuation of components

The driver multicontour seat control unit actuates the left front multicontour seat pneumatic pump (M25/8) via a direct line.

The front passenger multicontour seat control unit actuates the right front multicontour seat pneumatic pump (M25/9) via a direct line.

IMPORTANT The respective multicontour seat control unit actuates the integrated piezo valves to inflate and deflate the air cushions in the contour insert in the seat.

Transmitting signals

The signals are transmitted via the following connections:

Left seat LIN, right seat LIN

The driver multicontour seat control unit also sends the "massage action" and "massage intensity" requests via the left seat LIN to the driver massage function control unit (N32/31).

The front passenger multicontour seat control unit also sends the "massage action" and "massage intensity" requests via the right seat LIN to the front passenger massage function control unit (N32/32).

Interior CAN

The signals are transmitted by the multicontour seat control unit via the interior CAN. The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see appropriate block diagram or function schematic).

Variants

There are no hardware variants for the multicontour seat control unit. The assignment for driver or front passenger seat and the country or left-hand/right-hand drive vehicle assignment is also coded by the software.
