Function requirements, general
- The supplemental restraint system (SRS) must be programmed to match the vehicle (vehicle identification number (FIN), left or right-hand drive vehicles, equipment programming and configuration parameters)
- "Circuit 15 ON"
The circuit 15 status is sent by the electronic ignition lock (EZS) control unit over the chassis CAN to the supplemental restraint system (SRS) control unit.
After circuit 15 has been switched off, parts of the SRS remain active for a certain run-on time.
Power reserve: The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control unit provides a power reserve for at least t = 300 ms if the battery has been disconnected.
Supplemental restraint system, general
The supplemental restraint system is used for occupant protection.
The belt is prevented from extending in certain situations, irrespective of the status of the SRS.
The following subfunctions are described in separate documents:
- Passenger-side seat occupied recognition function
- Deploying of pyrofuse, function
