Risk of injury  to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under Pressure. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing hydraulic fluid. Depressurize hydraulic system completely before starting any work on it. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. AS00.00-Z-0013-01A

1 Remove bottom engine compartment paneling Model 251 with engine 276 AR61.20-P-1105RT
    Model 204.0/2 with engine 276.9
Model 204.3 with engine 276.9
Model 207 with engine 276.9
Model 212 with engine 276.9

INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install bottom engine compartment paneling after performing a leak check.

2 Remove poly-V-belt Model 172 with engine 276

3 Remove tensioner pulley (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/ Bolt, guide pulley to carrier *BA13.25-P-1003-01X 
4 Open cable tie (arrow) Model 172 with engine 276
up to model year 2016
Model 204.9, 207 with engine 276.9
Model 212 with engine 276
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace cable tie.
 
5 Disconnect electrical connection (10)    
6 Remove ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) upward out of the bracket and set aside with electrical lines connected    
7 Clean area surrounding connecting points Power steering pump (1) NOTES Before opening the hydraulic system, the area surrounding the connecting points should be thoroughly cleaned.
Otherwise dirt particles will lead to malfunctions or total failure of the hydraulic system.
 
8 Suction off oil out of Power steering Expansion reservoir (3) SPECIAL TOOL Hand pump Fig 1
9 Remove return hose (4) from Expansion reservoir (3) IMPORTANT Collect the discharged oil using a rag.  
10 Seal connections using suitable stop plugs SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 2
11 Remove screw/ Bolt (5) and pull Pressure line (9) out of Power steering pump (1) IMPORTANT Collect the discharged oil using a rag.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace seal.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 212 with engine 276 Attachment, high Pressure Expansion hose to Power steering pump

12 Seal connections using suitable stop plugs SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 2
13 Detach electrical connection (6) from Power steering pump quantity control valve (Y10/1) If installed.  
14 Unhook vacuum line (7) from Expansion reservoir (3) Model 172 with engine 276
up to model year 2016

15 Remove Bolt (8) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 212 with engine 276 Power steering pump on timing case/crankcase *BA46.30-P-1001-01T

16 Remove Power steering pump (1) with Expansion reservoir (3) from control housing and take out of the engine compartment    
17 Detach Expansion reservoir (3) from Power steering pump (1) When replacing the Power steering pump (1). AR46.25-P-1000W 
18 Install in the reverse order    
19 Fill and bleed Power steering pump (1) Model 212 with engine 276 AR46.30-P-0010EW
    Model 172 with engine 276
up to model year 2016

20 Check oil level in Expansion reservoir (3) and correct if necessary
