Remove/Install Power Steering Pump - AR46.30-P-0500RD

Risk of injury  to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under Pressure. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing hydraulic fluid. Depressurize hydraulic system completely before starting any work on it. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. AS00.00-Z-0013-01A
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Clean area surrounding area before opening the hydraulic system at the connecting points    
2 Extract oil from Power steering Expansion reservoir SPECIAL TOOL Hand pump Fig 3
3.1 Remove lower engine compartment paneling Model 172 with engine 274

3.2 Detach bottom part of soundproofing Model 172 with engine 651
as of model year 2016
AR94.30-P-5300W
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP40.10-P-4050V
4 Remove right front wheel
5 Remove right wheel well liner in fender   AR88.10-P-1300W
6 Detach electrical connections (8) from electrohydraulic Power steering pump (1)    
7 Detach feed hose (5) from electrohydraulic Power steering pump (1) IMPORTANT Collect escaping oil using a rag.  
8 Seal connections with stop plugs SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 2
9 Detach Pressure line (2), to do so remove Bolt (3) IMPORTANT Collect escaping oil using a rag.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, Pressure line to Power steering pump (EHPS)
*BA46.30-P-1018-01R 
10 Seal connections with stop plugs SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 2
11 Remove Bolts (4), then remove electrohydraulic Power steering pump (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, bracket to bracket for Power steering pump (EHPS) *BA46.30-P-1028-01R 
12 Detach bracket (6) from electrohydraulic Power steering pump (1), to do so, remove Bolts (9) Only when replacing the electrohydraulic Power steering pump (1).
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, bracket for Power steering pump to Power steering pump (EHPS)

13 Install in the reverse order    
14 Fill and bleed electrohydraulic Power steering pump (1)   AR46.30-P-0010RD 
15 Read out fault memory using diagnostic system, delete if necessary and check electrohydraulic Power steering pump (1) for the latest flashware Only when replacing the electrohydraulic Power steering pump (1).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04A
Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
16 Test-run engine and check steering system for leaks and proper operation
