Service Information: Engine Control Unit Programming - Si07.08-D-0008SM
ENGINE 651 in MODEL 906
To ensure smooth engine starting under any climatic conditions, the engine control unit CDID2 has to be programmed.
To do so, the add-ons 1767 and 1778 for DAS version 03/2011 have to be used.
In the event of an engine repair, the engine control unit has to be checked to see if it has the latest software.
The new software enables the idle speed to be raised after the engine start at an oil temperature of less than 12°C for 2 s at 1600 RPM and then for 8 s at 1350 RPM. Furthermore, the use of the engine□remote□start□-stop□ function including at low battery voltage is integrated through the PSM.
Notify the customer that to achieve a smoother engine starting procedure under any climatic and topographical conditions, the idle performance at engine temperatures of less than 12°C has been optimized. To do this, the idle speed is raised in two stages for a few seconds.
