Component Description For Fuel Injectors - GF07.03-D-6120HD
ENGINES 651.955/956/957 in MODEL 906
with CODE (XZ1) Model generation 1
with CODE (MZ0) Blue EFFICIENCY
Location
Illustrated on model 906
The individual fuel injectors are screwed into the top of the cylinder head at the respective cylinders.
All injectors have a coding, the Delphi I3C (Improved Individual Injection Correction), which is located on the head of the injector. This code indicates the quantity characteristics of the respective injector. If an injector is replaced then the CDI control unit (N3/28) must be informed about this coding by means of STAR DIAGNOSIS.
Task
The tasks of the injectors are subdivided into the following partial tasks:
- Fuel injection
- Input and output signals
Fuel injection
The injectors spray the fuel under high pressure into the respective cylinder.
The respectively injected fuel quantity is dependent on the driving conditions and is set over the actuation period of the respective injector.
Input and output signals
Direct input signals
- Actuation, voltage pulse by the CDI control unit
Function
When the control valve coil is actuated, the control valve interrupts the connection between feed duct and control chamber. The connection between the control chamber and the leak fuel line is created at the same time. Fuel in the control chamber is suctioned off out of the leaked fuel duct over the leak fuel line connector by the suction effect of the venturi in the high-pressure pump (M41/3). The fuel high pressure in the feed duct opens the nozzle needle in the nozzle body and a fine fuel spray is injected.
