Component Description For The Crankshaft Position Sensor - GF07.04-D-6011HD
ENGINES 651.955/956/957 in MODEL 906
with CODE (XZ1) Model generation 1
with CODE (MZ0) Blue EFFICIENCY
Location
Shown on model 906, view of the engine from the rear
The crankshaft sensor is located on the engine at the left rear on the transmission flange.
Task
The crankshaft sensor records the crankshaft position via the teeth of the drive plate (incremental wheel) without any contact and detects the engine speed.
Input and output signals
Direct output signals
- Voltage pulse to determine the position of the crankshaft and the motor RPM at the CDI control unit (N3/28)
This signal from the crankshaft sensor together with the signal from the camshaft sensor (B6/23) serves to recognize cylinder 1. If the signal from the crankshaft Hall sensor is not available to the CDI control unit, the CDI control unit uses the signal from the camshaft Hall sensor as a substitute value for the engine start.
Function
The crankshaft sensor inductively generates a voltage signal which is used by the CDI control unit for the crankshaft position and for determination of the rotation of the crankshaft. A certain number of pulses (60 - 2) are output for each crankshaft revolution.
