ENGINES 651.955/956/957 in MODEL 906
with CODE (XZ1) Model generation 1
with CODE (MZ0) Blue EFFICIENCY
Function requirement
- Circuit 15 ON
General
For "Circuit 15 ON", the engine control in the CDI control unit (N3/28) is switched on and the engine prepared for starting.
Function sequence
For "Circuit 15 ON", from "circuit 30" to "circuit 15" via the circuit 15 relay by the EZS control unit (N73), via circuit 15 relay (K40/9k8). If there is a "circuit 15" voltage applied to the CDI control unit the engine timing circuit 87 relay (K40/9k7) (for model 906) is actuated by means of a ground signal.
In this process the engine timing circuit 87 relay (for model 906) closes its power contact and the voltage from "circuit 30", according to the respective fuses, as "circuit 87" to the CDI control unit and to the respective sensors and actuators of the engine timing.
If a voltage is applied to "circuit 87" the engine timing switches on and an output stage driver in the CDI control unit takes over further actuation of the engine timing circuit 87 relay (for model 906).
When the engine control is switched on, the CDI control unit carries out the following functions:
- To secure full fuel flow the fuel pump with fuel level sensor (M3/5) (for model 906) is actuated over the fuel pump relay (K40/9k3) (for model 906) (only for the first time of "circuit 15 ON" after unlocking the vehicle)
- The EOBD indicator lamp (A1e17) in the IC (A1) is actuated by the CDI control unit via the engine compartment CAN (CAN C) for a lamp check
- Data exchange with the EZS control unit (circuit 50 signal and communication with the DAS stage 3 (FBS 3)) takes place via CAN C
- The fault memory in the CDI control unit can be read out and deleted over the 16-pin diagnostic socket (X11)
- A diagnosis can be carried out with the Diagnosis Assistance System (DAS) over the 16-pin diagnostic socket
- Actuation of the glow output stage (N14/5) over the Local Interconnect Network (LIN) and the preglow indicator lamp (A1e13) via CAN C. The glow output stage then actuates the following glow plugs:
- Glow plug for cylinder 1 (R9/1) (for model 906)
- Glow plug for cylinder 2 (R9/2) (for model 906)
- Glow plug for cylinder 3 (R9/3) (for model 906)
- Glow plug for cylinder 4 (R9/4) (for model 906)
