Location 

The parking system control unit is in the trunk on the left side wall (model 222 and model 217.3) or on the left, rear wheel arch (model 217.4).

Tasks 

The parking system control unit has the following tasks:

Reading in of signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

Direct line 

The signals from the following components are read via direct lines:

HSVL line 

The image data from each of the following assembly parts is read in via a separate HSVL line:

Chassis FlexRay 

The parking system control unit also reads in the following information over the suspension FlexRay:

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.

Actuation of components 

The parking system control unit actuates the parking system distance sensors and the parking system speaker (H13/4) via direct lines.

The signals for activating the Audio/COMAND display are sent by the parking system control unit over the suspension FlexRay.

Output of signals 

The parking system control unit also sends the following information or requests over the suspension FlexRay:

The parking system control unit sends the image data via a HSVL line to the head unit (A26/17).
