Component Description For Reversing Camera Control Unit - GF54.65-P-5030LF
Model 222 up to model year 2018 with code 218 (Rear view camera) except code 235 (Parking Pilot with PARKTRONIC)
Shown on model 222
Location
The reversing camera control unit is located above the license plate on the left in the trunk lid handle strip.
Tasks
The reversing camera control unit has the following tasks:
- Recording area to the rear of the vehicle
- Reading in of signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Output of signals
Recording area to the rear of the vehicle
The reversing camera control unit is an optical parking aid. Its tasks include a surrounding field recording of the area to the rear of the vehicle, generation of dynamic guide lines and sending the video image to the COMAND controller unit (A40/3). The pictures recorded by the reversing camera are processed accordingly and electronically corrected for distortion by the integrated control unit to be shown in the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8). The reversing camera control unit is supplied with voltage by the rear SAM control unit (N10/8).
The reversing camera is automatically calibrated by the integrated control unit.
Reading in of signals
The signals are read in by the reversing camera control unit via the user interface CAN (CAN HMI). The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor whereupon the relevant signals are then issued.
Output of signals
The reversing camera control unit sends the image data via an HSVL line (high-speed video link) to the COMAND controller unit.
Structure
The reversing camera control unit is a color picture camera with a wide-angle lens (angle of vision X > 180°) and integrated control unit.
