Location
The Audio/COMAND control panel is located on the center console.
Tasks
The Audio/COMAND control panel is the central control for the telematics functions. The Audio/COMAND control panel can be used to operate the functions that can be displayed on the Audio/COMAND display. The Audio/COMAND control panel also enables functions to be directly activated or adjusted using numerous integrated control elements.
The Audio/COMAND control panel receives the following signals:
- Circuit 30t and circuit 31 via a direct line
- Actuation of indicator lamps for various buttons over the telematics CAN (CAN A) fro the head unit (A26/17)
- Actuation of flashing indicator in hazard warning system button over a direct line from the front SAM control unit (N10/6)
- CAN messages over the telematics CAN from the head unit
The Audio/COMAND control panel sends the following signals:
- Operation signal over the telematics CAN to the head unit
- Operation of integrated control elements over telematics CAN to the head unit
- Actuation of hazard warning system button via direct line to the front SAM control unit

- Manual shift mode button (AMG vehicles)
- DYNAMIC SELECT switch
- Home and Favorites button
- Parking system button (with code 235 (Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC) or code P44 (Parking Package))
- PARKTRONIC button (with code 235 (Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC) or code P44 (Parking Package))
- AMG ESP® Sport OFF button (AMG vehicles)
- Sport exhaust system button (AMG vehicles)
The volume control button can be turned (up or down) to adjust the volume. Pressing the volume control button switches the head unit on and off on AMG vehicles, otherwise it mutes the audio source.
