Location

The DC/DC converter control unit is located on the 48 V on-board electrical system battery at the right behind the rear bench seat.

Tasks

The DC/DC converter control unit consists of an output unit and a logic section. The output unit connects the 12 V on-board electrical system to the 48 V on-board electrical system, and it enables energy to be transferred in both directions. The logic section is responsible for communication with other control units and for actuation of the output unit.

The DC/DC converter control unit is responsible for the following additional tasks:

Reading in of sensors and signals

The input factors are read in over the following connections:

Battery sensor LIN

The signals of the battery sensor (B95) are read in by the DC/DC converter control unit over the battery sensor LIN:

48 V on-board electrical system LIN

The DC/DC converter control unit reads in the signals from the 48 V on-board electrical system battery (G1/3) over the 48 V LIN.

Interior CAN

The DC/DC converter control unit also reads in the following signals over the interior CAN:

Evaluation of input factors

The read-in input factors are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the output unit in the DC/DC converter control unit is then actuated.

Sending signals

The DC/DC converter control unit also sends the following signals over the interior CAN:

The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
