	Remove/install
1	Connect diagnostic system and read out variant coding for FSCU (N118)	When replacing the FSCU (N118).
			AD00.00-P-2000-04B
		Transfer stored data to new FSCU (N118).
2	Switch off the ignition and keep the transmitter key outside the transmitter range (at minimum 2 m)
3	Disconnect battery ground line		AR54.10-P-0003LF
4	Remove park pawl capacitor at right mounting support	Model 217.4 with engine 157, 278, 279	AR54.10-P-1126LCA
5	Remove right side of panel in trunk	Model 222 with engine 157, 256, 264, 276, 277, 278, 279	AR68.30-P-4600LF

6.1	Remove screws (3), remove bracket (1) for fuel system control unit (N118) at right rear seat and place to one side	Model 217.3 with engine 157, 278, 279 Model 222 with engine 157, 256, 264, 276, 277, 278, 279 M6X1	*BA00.10-P-1002-04A
6.2	Remove screws (7), unclip electrical wiring harness at bracket (6) and place bracket (6) to one side	Model 217.4 with engine 157, 278, 279 There are 2 screws/bolts present in total. M6X1	*BA00.10-P-1002-04A
7	Unclip and remove fuel system control unit (N118)
8	Release and disconnect electrical connectors (4, 5) at fuel system control unit (N118)
9	Install in the reverse order
10	Connect vehicle diagnosis system, read out fault memory and delete

11	Transfer variant coding of fuel system control unit (N118)	When replacing the fuel pump control unit (N118).
		Transfer variant coding. Malfunctions will otherwise occur.	AD00.00-P-2000-04B
	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
12	Conduct engine test run while checking for proper operation of the engine
