Location
The multicontour seat control unit is located at the bottom, in the backrest frame of the respective front seat.
Tasks
The multicontour seat control unit does the following:
- Inflating and deflating the multicontour backrests
- Control of massage function through the left front seat massage function control unit (N32/31) or the right front seat massage function control unit (N32/32)
- Adjustment of stored pressure values when calling up the memory function and store the contours (with code 275 (Memory package) or model 217)
- Shutoff of the respective function if the pressure valve responsible has overheated
The tasks are subdivided as follows:
- Read in sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
Read in sensors and signals
The multicontour seat control unit reads in the input factors via interior CAN (CAN B).
The following signals are read in, among others:
- Air cushion adjustment request
- Massage function request
- Dynamic function request
- Request for storing/moving to memory position (model 222 with code 275 (Memory package) or model 217)
- PRE-SAFE® adjustment request
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors read in are evaluated by the multicontour seat control unit. The air cushions of the contour insert in the seat are inflated and deflated via the valves in the multicontour seat control unit.
Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
- Massage components LIN (LIN B26)
- Interior CAN
Massage components LIN
The multicontour seat control unit then actuates the following components via the massage component LIN:
- Left front seat massage function control unit
- Right front seat massage function control unit
The air cushions in the massage insert are inflated and deflated via the valves in the massage function control unit.
Interior CAN
The multicontour seat control unit sends the following signals via interior CAN, among others:
- Compressed air supply request
- "Hot-Stone" request
Variants
There are no hardware variants for the multicontour seat control unit. The assignment for driver or front passenger seat and the country or left-hand/right-hand drive vehicle assignment is also coded by the software.
