Location 

The Audio/COMAND display is installed at the top center of the instrument panel.

Tasks 

The Audio/COMAND display serves to present user-relevant operating and information windows as well as to display video picture information.

The Audio/COMAND display receives the following signals:

• Control signals (e.g. switch on) over the telematics CAN (CAN A) from the head unit (A26/17)
• Picture signals via high-speed video link (HSVL) interface of head unit

The Audio/COMAND display evaluates the input factors and actuates the color screen.

Structure 

The Audio/COMAND display is a 12.3" thin film transistor (TFT) color display with a resolution of 1920 x 720 pixels. A protective glass screen, which improves readability, is glued in front of the display. The Audio/COMAND display can be tilted about the horizontal axis by 5 degrees.
