Location 

The Electronic Stability Program control unit is located in the engine compartment, at the left next to the BAS brake booster (A7/7) at the traction system hydraulic unit.

Tasks 

The Electronic Stability Program control unit contains the control for the following systems:

IMPORTANT Model 222.173

as of model year 2018

with code 23P (Driving Assistance package)

The variable speed limiter and cruise control are integrated into the

Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive control unit (N62/4).

The Electronic Stability Program control unit has the following tasks:

Reading in of signals 

The input factors are read in over the following connections:

Direct line 

The following signals are read in via direct lines:

Chassis FlexRay 

The Electronic Stability Program control unit is a subscriber to chassis FlexRay. It communicates with the following control units:

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.
