Service Information: Procedure For Incomplete Extension And Retraction Of Belt Strap - Si91.40-S-0012A

Model all (Light transporter) 

Due to recent events, we should like to point out that seat belts with the following problems are increasingly being replaced:

• Incomplete retraction
• Incomplete unwinding

However no fault can be found on the seat belts during the inspection.

Before replacing the seat belts, the following components are to be checked for unrestricted movement or the installation position (twisting):

• Cover
• Damping material
• Electrical connector
• Electrical line

Remove any dirt from the belt guide or belt strap. Please note the information in Xentry TIPS (group 91.40).

Cover 

The belt strap may not make contact with the trim or any other trim parts.

Seat belt retractor 

The belt strap must run without any contact at the side of the belt retractor.

Electrical plugs and electrical lines 

The belt strap may not make contact with electrical plugs, electrical lines or covers.
