General
Various functions can be selected using the control elements on the upper control panel, e.g. the stationary heater, volume adjustment or head unit ON/OFF. Indicators can also be located in the upper control panel, e.g. for switching off the front passenger airbag or the anti-theft alarm system (ATA).
Location
Depending on the vehicle model, the upper control panel is located in the center of the instrument panel.

Function requirements

Function
The type, location and number of operating elements and indicators in the upper control panel vary depending on the model and equipment. Unlike the pushbuttons used previously, the buttons on telematics unit version NTG 7 (with the exception of the hazard warning light system button) are touch-sensitive. The fingerprint sensor (model dependent) is located in the upper control panel. The display angle button (model dependent) is located in the upper control panel.
On vehicles with NTG 7, the upper control panel is connected to the vehicle's network architecture.
