Location 

The WSS/weight classification control unit is located at the bottom of the seat frame of the front passenger seat.

Task 

The WSS/weight classification control unit determines the weight on the front passenger seat by means of a pressure measurement in a silicone-filled seat mat. The WSS/weight classification control unit sends information on weight classification to the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control unit.
